Barrier Between Them

An urgent call brings Janet Elliott to Raines Hall, her grandfather's home. Janet's father has died and old Mr. Elliott, who is ill, is unable to carry on at the head of the prosperous engineering works he founded in 1925.

Mr. Elliott asks Janet to seek out a young engineer, Martin Fairfax -- grandson of his army friend who was killed in the Great War in 1918.

Janet learns that her grandfather's success is based on his dead friend's ideas, not his own. He now wants to repay Edward Fairfax's friend through young Martin for his own prosperity. But he does not want the story to come out.

Martin takes a job at the big Elliott works in ignorance of the truth. Janet falls in love with him -- but he is already engaged to another girl ...
