On Princess Annika's seventeenth birthday, a winged horse rescues her from a wicked wizard named Wenlock. As Annika escapes, Wenlock turns everyone in her kingdom to stone. In three days they'll stay that way forever unless Annika agrees to marry him!

The winged horse carries Annika up to the Cloud Kingdom. There she learns that the horse is actually her long-lost sister, Brietta, transformed by Wenlock! To reverse the evil enchantments, Annika must find three mysterious objects and combine them to build the powerful Wand of Light.

With the help of Brietta, a polar bear cub called Shiver, and a blacksmith named Aidan, Annika travels through dark forests, inside deep caves, and over dangerous glaciers in order to create the magic weapon. Only by proving that she is pure of heart will Annika be able to use the wand and save herself, her family, and her whole kingdom from Wenlock's cruel plan.
