Baptism of Fire

The move to Cumbria would be a new start in life for Laurie. Teaching the Alexander Technique would be vastly different to the hectic and sometimes frightening job of Junior Sister in a London Accident and Emergency department.

Almost immediately she fell at cross-purposes with professor Reuben Vaughan, owner of the school premises at Cumthwaite hall. He didn't believe in the benefits of the Technique, and had no hesistation in saying so. Ben thought Laurie was wasting her time, but then he didn't know the trauma that had driven her out of nursing.
