Balak's Reign

If a curse can be spoken, why then can it not be broken? Thirteen-year-old orphan Sam finds himself in Nottoway, an idyllic world where technology has not encroached and choked out the time, decency, and etiquette of its citizens. But all is not as it seems in this quaint society--so Sam comes to learn from his new companions Zadok, Jessie, and Mathias. Sam's parents are dead, and there is one man responsible. But can Sam defeat Balak's Curse, which threatens to decimate all the good in the land amidst warlocks, whisperers, magic, and revelations of a past that changes everything in his world?
