About This Book

It was the one baby-sitting job Laurel should never have taken.

Laurel arrives at Hoop Lake expecting her summer to be as boring as usual. She's surprised when she finds new people at the lake - a young sculptor named Ivan, and his baby daughter, Doe. Laurel is happy to baby-sit for Doe, and to do other chores around the house. Ivan really seems to need her- he's good-looking, gentle, and he treats her like an adult. Laurel can't stop herself from wishing this summer would last forever.

Then Laurel notices there's something wrong with Ivan's happy family. Doe is strangely quiet, and Ivan is fiercely protective of her. Laurel knows she's got to find out what's wrong- for Doe's sake. But the more she discovers about Doe and Ivan, the less she wants to know.
