In the near future, computer to brain interfaces lead to VRORPGs, Virtual Reality Online Roleplaying Games.After running a seemingly ordinary mission in the Avatars of Espionage VRORPG, seventh-ranked Keelia Estmund, better known as Alastrina, and her gaming group are shot by government operatives wielding hacked magic guns. The group soon discovers they and hundreds of other gamers can no longer log out of the game.While her real life body lies trapped in her gaming rig, Keelia's new mission becomes finding a way to use her game skills to defeat the operatives and force them to release everyone.
