Audition for Death

After her recent successful run in a local play, Kristy Wilder feels like a star. And Booker, the new editor of the newspaper, makes her feel like a leading lady even offstage. But just when Kristy's life seems to be coming together, fellow actress Nancy Collins falls to her death, throwing the director, James Winterberg—and everyone else—into a state of shock.

Still, the show must go on, and the actors begin rehearsing for a new play. At first, Kristy attributes James's strange behavior to Nancy's death, but pretty soon, she begins to suspect that there's more going on here than meets the eye. And Kristy is faced with another dilemma—how long should she protect Regina Winterberg's secret, even though it's clear that Regina is suffering?

As Kristy and Booker struggle to uncover the answers, several things become apparent-this time the danger is real; this time there is no script with a happy ending; and this time the final curtain may very well fall on Kristy…
