About This Book

Six elderly Parachute Regiment soldiers have been convicted of alleged illegal killings many years ago during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. The Good Friday Agreement granted an amnesty to Republicans and the IRA for their illegal killings but not British soldiers. An appeal against their convictions has been denied by the Supreme Court condemning them to long term imprisonment with the prospect of likely dying in prison. There is much public and military disquiet at this situation. The Government is unable to intervene but senior military personnel decide to take covert action. Major Sam Brent recently retired from the UK Special Forces leads a team of former Special Forces operators to assault Downing Street. They hold the Prime Minister and the Cabinet as hostages to extort the release of the imprisoned soldiers. Despite meticulous planning and precautions they are pursued by the police and secret services and eventually arrested. The Government cannot permit a treasonous act to go unpunished. However there is a lack of hard evidence against Sam and his team. The story ends with a twist that sees justice for all.
