Assassins' Club

Assassins’ Club is a visit to the netherworld of “the murder business.” Arlene Prescott, a criminologist, is preparing her doctoral thesis about the psyche of hired killers. While collecting data, she interviews the jailed-for-life hit man Mario Zeppa. She learns that assassination networks do indeed exist. In exchange for huge fees, they professionally kill anybody for their clients, who are mainly governments, millionaires, and major corporations. Helping the police to solve an obvious contract killing, Arlene connects to the Rittmeister’s assassination network in Vienna. After the government lets Zeppa out of jail, he offers Arlene a high-paying research assignment in Africa, which is actually a contract killing for the CIA, and leaves her to take the blame for the murder.
