... Deep within the bowels of Edinburgh Castle something sinister stirred. A dark shadowy figure in a grubby laboratory coat chuckled deviously as he stood in front of the rows of test tubes on the bench in front of him, each containing a potentially lethal mixure when combined with one or several of the others ... When Katherine McKitten‘s Great Aunt Annie starts acting strangely, she and her friend Heather Sweeney investigate and discover something strange going on beneath Edinburgh Castle. They enlist the help of a young police officer, DC Alexander James, who is relatively new to the Edinburgh Police Force; and together uncover a plot so fantastic that it seems to have come straight off the pages of a science fiction novel.
