The Snatcher saga continues as the New Republic of Tranquility Key faces its toughest challenge to date. Several years after the events of And They Rose Up and And They Rose Up: Days of Retribution, the Republic comes under fire as its only doctor is found murdered. Chief of State, Mark Armstrong, and company set out on a dangerous mission to track down the killer and bring him to justice. But everything is not as it seems. New and old enemies rise up against the struggling band. Their journey takes them across the country and even across time itself in a battle with the forces of evil slowly closing in on them.
