An Invention to Die For

It's Donna's first case with Ellen, in what may become more than a business relationship. An invention worth millions, but Donna, a hardened private eye, with Ellen as her new colleague, soon suspects fraud. That's when the threats and violence start. Ellen's not used to armed conflict, but she's got to carry a gun now, and she'll need to be as cool and ruthless as Donna. Donna's made no secret of being lesbian, and can't help being attracted to Ellen. But there's seemingly no future in the relationship, with competition from an ex-boyfriend, and also from Ellen's roommate Rosa. And then a murder occurs, seemingly without motive.
