An Empty Heart

In writing this book, the author draws upon her personal clinical wisdom and psychotherapy experience as she probes the complexities of life that are often exacerbated by alcoholism, drug addiction, domestic violence and homelessness. Writing with honesty, wisdom and sensitivity, she makes it possible for us to journey with families and individuals to better attain a deeper consciousness that will help us to rediscover human meaning and values regarding our brothers and sisters who on a daily basis struggle to survive. They courageously struggle to survive despite impersonality, a general malaise and some dehumanization of our homeless population. Her book is both intelligent and enlightening as well as encouraging because it is exceptionally humane. It provides us with fresh insights to the long term effects of traumas in peoples' lives that may lead us to a new level of comprehension regarding the many contradictions of the human heart and mind.
