Still recovering from Mr. Darcy's unfortunate proposal at Hunsford, Elizabeth Bennet returns to Longbourn to discover that not only is Lydia to go to Brighton with the Meryton regiment for the summer, but that she is also to make the journey to the seaside to keep an eye on the youngest Bennet daughter.
