A chilly December weekend at suburban Alpine Village quickly overheats when Emmy Brace's uncle, Judge Harry Doane, claims that her job as a TV news researcher is endangering her life. Angry with the Judge, she is further embarrassed by having to stay overnight with former boyfriend Bar Slocumb because the guest room is filled with a litter of homeless pups! But the weekend takes a more distressing turn when a bizarre double murder shatters the peace of the blizzard-shrouded community.
