"He wasn't supposed to look better," Gwyn thought when she met Alec Wainwright again. Alec has aksed Gwyn to return home because her grandfather's inn is in trouble and, instead of the skinny boy next door she remembers, Alec is now a gorgeous hunk!

Gwyn fell out with her grandfather over her desire to be an actress. She hasn't found fame yet, but doesn't want to quit and definitely can't see a future for herself in a small town, married and helping run her grandfather's inn.

Although Gwyn doesn't expect to be caught up again in small town life, she and Alec become lovers and he asks her to help organize the school pageant.
