Evergreen Industries needed an on-site day-care center, and Assistant Personnel Manager Kirsten Anderson was going to see that they got one. She strongly believed that her ideas would benefit the company, as well as its employees. When Courtney Forrester, the company CEO, met her proposal with a flat refusal, she refused to give up without a fight.

But Court was equally stubborn. A widower with two children, he had old-fashioned ideas about child care -- and romance. So when he found himself falling for Kirsten, he fought his feelings. He quickly discovered, though, that the battle was lost before it had even begun.
