Act of Betrayal

When Britt Montero begins to investigate the disappearance of a teenage boy, she discovers a pattern of missing youngsters of similar age and 1 appearance. As Britt probes this baffling cake, she meets people who once knew her father, and the mystery of his murder in Cuba years I ago is reopened. She learns that her father left an explosive diary while he was in a Cuban prison and in it he named the killer who betrayed him. Suddenly everyone wants the diary, and anyone who has it is marked for murder. The novel culminates in a whirlwind climax that combines violent weather and violently inclined Cuban insurgents, and solves both puzzles as the story reaches its astonishing conclusion.
