Gerald Marsden had waited a long time for freedom, and he wasn't about to settle down. Not even for a sad little boy whose big brown eyes reminded him of his own unhappy childhood. But sending Pete back to the kid's grandmother wasn't easy. Especially when Veronica Sykes, his attractive landlady, put her two cents in. She not only wanted him to be Pete's father--she offered to become Gerald's wife/Temporarily, at least.
