Accident Call

Life at the Accident Unit at St. Mark's, Halchester, is demanding - physically and emotionally. When Tim Herrington arrives there as house surgeon to Adam Trowbridge, his chief finds him moneyed, superficial, more interested in tennis than surgery. Adam's secretary, Jenny Armitage, dislikes Tim on sight. Dark, sophisticated, attractive, he is too smooth and self-assured for her. She prefers the quiet, reliable Robin Boyd.

What sort of man is Tim? He has a tycoon for a father, drives and E-type Jaguar, plays championship tennis. Then after a crash on the motorway near the hospital he is severely injured and has to be admitted as a patient to his own unit.
