A tale of murder, politics and hope. Absurd! is directly linked to the events leading up to the 2014 elections. The final changes to the text were made about a week earlier at about the time when Julius Malema referred to Blade Nzimande as "Skuurpot". Skuurpot, meaning pot scourer, is a reference to Nzimande's bad skin. I seemed like a nice full stop to the story as well as a quintessential reminder of the subtlety of South African politics. There are numerous references to people who are active in South African politics but Absurd! is a work of fiction and the main characters are fictitious.
