Dana couldn't believe she'd been such a fool. Jason was nothing more than a con man, draining her finically and a dominating abuser as well. How had she ever gotten into such a hopeless situation? With the question already on her mind, she ran into Kirk, the one man she measured every other by even though he deserted her ten years before. The comparison between the feelings she'd had for Kirk and what she felt for Jason was the deciding factor. She ordered Jason to leave, spent one night with Kirk, banishing, she believed, the lies that had come between them. The nightmare began. Kirk didn't desert her willingly, blamed her for being driven from his family and the beating he'd received.
