It wasn’t that Tennyson Wilde hated Halloween, he just found it offensive. He saw no reason to celebrate a day that literally demonized non-human peoples, that labeled them as monsters and reinforced negative stereotypes. It only served to further the “us vs. them†mentality that was so deeply ingrained in human culture. Those were perfectly valid reasons not to celebrate. It did not make him a party pooper.
