A Very Able Seaman

The life of a young seaman during WWII and his progression through the ranks. How he and his friends coped with life on the lower deck, seeing mates killed and injured. The beautiful young girl and her family he and his shipmates helped through the bombing of Malta, how their friendship blossomed into love. Constant bad weather and attacks by enemy ships and aircraft, the stress and strain it put on everyone's lives and families, fear of the 'Sweats and Shakes' which come when you have seen the devastation of war. Meeting some of the men and women who worked at Bletchley Park and friendships which continued through till the end of the war and beyond.
