A Trail That Touches the Sea

My mind felt dazed,and for a moment,I-was unable to focus.Then,it all came rushing back to me with the mosthorrible clarity.Her long,golden hair spread out like a fan,her lifeless face.Horror-overtook me,I began to shake under the bed comforter.Suddenly,my eyes widened,all sleep forgotten.For there was my therapist and cousin Sharon sitting quietly in the chair beside my bed."Well,you're finally awake".Something in her tone sent a chill threw me.Her dark eyes glimmered as she moved closer to me."I should have never left you alone.I see that now.You've become too unbalanced.You must admit you killed Eleanor.You were in a rage.You couldn't control yourself…."Sharon's voice went on,but I could no longer understand her words.My thoughts were filled with horror.Could she be right?A small voice cried inside of me.Had I murdered Eleanor?Everything lately had been so fuzzy.If only,I could remember….
