Cookie chef extraordinaire Holly Nielsen has worked very hard to make a life for herself. Her Lemon Lovelies and Pecan Puffiets may not make her rich, but they do pay the rent, and word of Holly's talent is spreading. In fact, everything is going according to plan until a gnome and his dog invade Holly's kitchen...

"Gnome" Kevin Elliot is actually making a TV commercial; his canine companion, Gnuttley, is the Kuchen­meister Krunchy Kookies spokesdog. And while everyone else in town thinks the dog is cute and the man cuter, Holly wants nothing to do with either of them. Some bossy man is definitely not in her game plan. Poor Kevin! Every time he opens his mouth he manages to stick his boot in it, and not even Gnuttley's big brown eyes can soften Holly's heart. But they're not giving up. Somehow, they'll prove to Holly that love can be the sweetest gift of all...
