A Surgical Affair

Diana Field was thrilled when she was appointed house surgeon at a big hospital. More than anything in the world, she wanted to become a successful surgeon -- and in particular she wanted to work with Mark Royston, from whom she was sure she could learn much. Learn she did -- and, with their common love of surgery, and thrown together as they were, it was inevitable that she and Mark should fall in love. But Mark didn't want to marry her. An unhappy episode in his past had made him wary of marriage. Should Diana turn to Richard, who most decidedly did want her, or wait, with ever-diminishing hope, for Mark to change his mind?
