A Sunny Place For Shady People is the fifth novel by author Stephen W. Brooks. It is woven around the facts of the unsolved 1976 murder of Garland County Deputy Sheriff Linda Edwards and the suspicious circumstances surrounding the dismissal of charges against her lover. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and subsequent death remain shrouded in mystery still today. The stereotypical southern politics and small town intrigue are at the heart of this work of fiction as is the impregnable ‘blue wall’ as one of the Hot Springs Police lieutenants is charged with her death among rumors of their extramarital affair swirl. A group of retired HSPD officers’ band together to right a wrong and lift the veil of secrecy that has tarnished their agency and their badges.
