The author's inspiration is drawn from nature's untimely beauty, the sweet smell of night air, crops standing proud and tall adorning the countryside, a hitchhiker and a popular country song. Simple pleasures the Author has embellished herself with during her lifetime. Sonya Childers uses these uncomplicated inspirations to create a simple, yet poignant love story for adults of all age groups.The story recants events from a modest country girl's life. Events like Sarah's fulfilling childhood, the unpredictable teenage years, how she met and married her high school sweetheart, Jess and then his unexpected death at an early age. As the story unfolds Sarah is forced to rebuild her broken life, ultimately being thrown into the arms of a much younger man, who teaches her how to feel, love and live again. The unexpected, short-lived relationship is an awakening for Sarah, a rebirth and in the end the story takes a surprising twist. The Author fictionally and tastefully incorporates real life tragedies and triumphs making the book unique to certain situations within her own life. One of which being the death of her father-in-law. The characters live in a small, gossip-filled farming community located along the banks of the Mississippi River in Northeastern Missouri. The tranquillity and love-thy neighbor ethic of this small town are incorporated within the chapters of this book. The story makes for a warm, wonderful read.
