A Sense of Claire

In a small farming village in the Luberon Hills in Provence, in 1751, a lovely young woman was brutally murdered but her killer was never apprehended. Almost two hundred and fifty years later, to her complete surprise, successful Boston-based cookbook author Katy Perry inherits an old crumbling stone farmhouse in the hills above St. Saturnin from a French aunt she has never met. Arriving in the South of France planning to combine two projects, searching out French peasant recipes and making arrangements to sell the old mas, Katy finds herself caught up in ancient residue emotions. There is a “sense” in the old farmhouse of someone who wants to reach her with a story long forgotten in the minds and hearts of the villagers. The “voice” of long-dead Claire reaches deep into Katy’s soul through journals and dreams, demanding to tell her story. There are other surprises waiting there for Katy. Not the least the love of a romantic and sensitive Frenchman. But also the kindness and generosity of neighbors, and a growing sense of having come home.
