Lovejoy's foray into the antiques markets of London turns into an unexpected – and dangerous – family reunion

In between the markets of Camden and Portobello, Lovejoy pays a visit to his old friends Colette and Arthur Goldhorn, but he's in for a dreadful surprise--the Goldhorns' King's Road shop has been taken over by one Dieter Gluck, a handsome and elegant thug. Thanks to him, Colette is on the street, her husband is mysteriously dead, and her fifteen-year-old son Mortimer's life is at risk--he's a handsome lad, too, notes Lovejoy, with an oddly familiar face and a genius for distinguishing a genuine article from a fake.

Lovejoy vows to avenge Arthur's death, restore Colette's business, and save Mortimer's life, but dealing with Herr Gluck turns out to be a very risky game.
