Sara O'Brien had seen enough of New York City. It was one thing to let her best friend show her the highlights of the Big Apple. It was quite another to let Marcie drag her to a sophisticated Manhattan party. Although Marcie had changed in the years since she'd left their childhood home in South Carolina, Sara was still a small-town girl through and through. She was desperate to leave this party, and eager to get back to Goose Creek.

When Cal Hyatt spotted Sara across the room, he could tell that she was different. Unlike the other jaded party guests, Sara was obviously an innocent, an outsider, just like him. Drawn to the pretty country girl with earnest green eyes, Cal whisked her away from the party and into a cab. Their evening together was short, a brief interlude sparkling with moonlight and fleeting kisses.

The next morning, she was gone. In the weeks that followed, Sara fought back the sweet memories of the tall, confident rancher whose touch had made her pulse race. And Cal kept reminding himself that southern belles like Sara were too fragile to survive life on a Florida cattle ranch.
