"We're going where?"

Just like that, business investigator Callie Webber finds herself on her way to the beautiful Virgin Islands, where a situation of great importance awaits her. Her friend and mentor, Eli Gold, is in serious trouble.
"Callie?" a woman's voice crackled from very far away. "Is that you?"
"This is Callie," I said into the phone. "Who is this?"
"It's Stella, " the voice said, breaking into a muffled sob. "Stella Gold. I'm so glad I finally reached you, I need your help."
"What is it?" I asked, my pulse surging.
"It's Eli," she cried. "He's in the hospital, in intensive care."
"Intensive care?"
"Callie, he's been shot."
An unusual … and very dangerous … assignment sends Callie and Tom on an adventure together.
