Cassie is a forty-six-year-old waitress living in Texas. Her lover has left. Her best friend has moved. If Cassie were paying attention, she would notice that her life is a mess. But she has a dog and a house full of memories to keep her warm at night--and it kind of works. Until her mother dies and Cassie suddenly becomes head of a family business--not a particularly friendly family at that.
