A Perilous Place: A Story of Love and Misunderstanding

Da Nang, Vietnam. A young sailor struggles with his decision to extend his tour and remain near the Vietnamese woman he loves. A message from home settles his indecision when he learns of his parents' ailing health. He surprises his lover with an engagement ring during a visit to her family's sparse home. Although flattered, as her family's primary support, it places her in a quandary. As he begins to leave the village after curfew, a military police raid causes him to take flight and hide in the house of a woman of question. When the coast clears, he tries to find his way out of the maze of alleys that intersect the village, however a band of thieves accost him, intent on stealing his possessions. This is a story of love and misunderstanding—and the consequences one faces in a perilous place.
