About This Book

Whitstone Keep has enjoyed peace for years, but that peace has just been disturbed. While on a hunting trip with his father's best warriors, Prince Armend finds himself surrounded by an enemy who were long thought vanquished from their borders. The bloodlets! Wounded and unable to return home, Armend takes refuge in a foreign land the residence call Asteria. But Asteria is thought to only be a place for the dead. There he learns the powers of fairies are freely given, unlike in Whitstone, where they are taken. Armend quickly falls in love with the land and people, and especially Jasna, but when visions tell him that the bloodlets are only a precursor to an even greater enemy preparing to invade Whitstone he must make the choice to leave paradise behind. Armend returns from Asteria, unaware if he had been dead or alive, or if he will see Jasna again. While the King and the people praise his return, Armend is not the same prince who had left, and predicts a coming war. He now knows that everything his father has taught him about becoming King may be wrong. In the midst of saving his people he must go against their wishes, go against everything that is expected of him, and become the King his people may not want, but need most. A King with a heart.
