A Parcel of Land

Spirited young Harriet Tycherley never dreamed she would one day come into an inheritance.

When she did, she was determined to make the most of it. It was only a parcel of land -- a small estate nearly ruined from neglect -- but Harriet wanted to settle there.

Everyone, however, including her dashing cousin Edward, warned her against living at Beauregard. There were rumors of strange goings-on -- rumors of violence and murder.

But Harriet was a very stubborn young woman -- as Edward soon discovered. And there were some shocking surprises in store... for both of them.
