A New Brand

After a runaway slave saved his life John Brand chose to fight with the union until a bullet ended his time as a soldier. He joins the Oregon Trail looking to start a new life in the West, but he doesn't expect to make friends or to meet a woman who makes his heart race.

Caroline Thompson and her parents lost everything because of the war between the North and South. With nothing more to lose than each other her family joins the trail to go West and start new lives. When she sees John she is immediately attracted to him, but she is sure she will never have him because she is so plain.
