Christie understood Lyle Venniker's shock at meeting her again. She felt the same. If she'd known he was supervising the archaeological dig in South Africa, she'd never have applied for the job as secretary to it.

Their six-month marriage five years previously had ended in divorce--under pressures from their individual careers.
