Although Sister Fay Mitchell enjoyed running the antenatal ward of a busy Manchester hospital, she was nevertheless flattered when the charming Dr. Nicholas Lisle asked her to be the midwife partner of his new birthing clinic. And she knew his interest in her was more than a little professional. Why then was she so bothered by anaesthetist Dr. Lewis Grant's disapproval?
