Merliah is a Malibu superstar surfer who is in for a shock when her hair turns pink and she can suddenly breathe
underwater. Then Merliah discovers that she is actually the daughter of the mermaid queen Calissa. Calissa has been imprisoned by her evil sister, Eris, and only Merliah can rescue her.

So Merliah journeys underwater to the mermaid kingdom of Oceana. With the help of her best friends back on land and some new underwater friends, Merliah must collect three special objects to help her defeat Eris. But it isn't as easy as it sounds! Eris will do anything to stop Merliah. Will she be able to accept her inner mermaid in time to rescue her mother and all of Oceana?
