When Christine Gentry headed south to her grandfather's cottage on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, she was facing a difficult decision. Should she sell the house and the surrounding acreage to island developers, or hold onto it for sentimental reasons?

Christine's first run-in with developer Josh Malone left her seething with anger. He took one look at her golden hair and manicured nails and decided that Christine was just another rich city lady. City people didn't understand the beauty of a Carolina sunset. They didn't take the time to hear the call of the wild ducks or smell the fresh salt air.

After a few days at her grandfather's cottage, Christine's memory was reawakened. The beach landscape reminded her of her childhood.
