A Likely Story

A Pride and Prejudice variation. Jane Austen's novel is charming, well written
and very much a women's wish-fulfilment dream. A lot of the ideas are not
credible, that two men aged, with no parents to interfere in the
dream, just a horrible Aunt in Darcy's case, are wandering around England
doing nothing much, during a time when England's very survival is in doubt
against Napoleon, rings odd. That Fitzwilliam's father pays for his stewards
son to go to Cambridge is another oddity, that one of England's largest
landowners asks a girl with very little dowry, and few connections, to marry
him is odd as well, but this is possibly the most popular book ever. This is not suitable for children
