A Letter for Don

On the face of it, Alison Dean was a very lucky girl - to have had two proposals of marriage on the same day! True, one was from a man she hardly knew - Eldon Saville - but that couldn't be helped; it was the man she loved, Donald Ormby, whom Alison was going to accept. But there was a dreadful mistake, and Alison found herself engaged to the wrong man! It should have been an easy situation to explain, but Donald, hurt and furiously angry, refused to listen. Eldon for his part was considerate and understanding - and furthermore, if she remained engaged to him it would bring her beloved father great happiness. Everything was conspiring to keep Alison firmly inside the net she had woven for herself. How could she ever get out again?
