Broken-hearted from her CIA brother's accidental death, Carolyn Wingate, a successful Midwest construction executive returns from his funeral to find that before his death he'd mailed her a lovely gold-and-diamond chain. Overcome with grief, she runs from everything she's known in a desperate search for solace.
