If there was one thing Melody Swann hate, it is a lie. So when Cameron Hart, her co-worker, asks her to become complicit in a white lie, she categorically refuses. Cam, though, is desperate, so when he tells her that he needs her to keep his ill grandmother happy while he does all he can to save the grandmother's farm. Melody, agrees. Besides, Cam sweetens the deal with a large amount of money. The couple leaves work and goes to the farm, but Melody gives Cam back some of the money. That really surprises Cam. Melody, who was abandoned as a baby and left in a fast food restaurant, tells him that she has never had a lot of money, but she has managed to get by. The strong attraction they have for each other grows, but Cam remains aloof because he has seen workplace romances go bad. Nevertheless, they fall in love and Cam asks Melody to a Christmas party. At the party, Melody sees Cecily, Cam's former girlfriend, kissing Cam. She imagines the worst, and runs out of the restaurant. Will Cam and Melody get together?
