A Horse Called Dragon

Again and again the two horses collided. Each time, the collision was more one-sided. Finally, the pounding stopped, the dust settled, and the old stallion moved slowly again, Dragon was master of the herd.

So began Dragon's leadership of a herd of Mexican mustangs, the small wild horses that roam the mountains of Mexico.

Year after year Dragon led his mares to good grazing, protected them from enemies, and fought off challengers to his rule. But one day he met an enemy he couldn't outwit or outrun, and his life as a captive began. It was a time of defeat, but in Dragon was the quality of adaptability and an unconquerable will to live.
