Miss Angela Fairfax had not wished to visit Castlerigg Abbey. Nor had she wanted to meet Sydney St. James, Marquess of Brynne, famous for his Town tricks and adventures.

The design was to bring off a match between them, but the focus of her visit sharply changed when a foundling was discovered or the Abbey doorstep.

As she and Lord Brynne worked together to unravel the mystery surrounding the babe, Angela was to discover the marquess was not so bad as he was painted. While Sydney was to discover that angels truly made the most heavenly houseguests!
