With Christy Miller's junior year about to begin, she felt optimistic. After all, she was starting the school year by going steady with a romantic, handsome guy. He planned each date to be an adventure that would assure Christy he thought she was wonderful, yes, even dazzling. And Christy was dazzled by him.

But somehow all her optimism couldn't make the details of her life go the way she wanted. Her parents put her on restriction and insisted she find a job. Her boyfriend was upset by the rules Christy's parents placed on her. Meanwhile she was trying to sort out just what was realistic to expect from this business of going steady.
