A Good Life Cut Short

Jacob Chance, U.S. Marshal just made the biggest move of his life. He retired from the Marshal Service and planned to move to a ranch in Nevada Territory, marry a beautiful young woman, and not spend the rest of his life chasing criminals, lunatics, and murderers. His soon-to-be brother in law, Jim Stokes, already on probation for attacking the marshal, goes on a murderous killing rampage and forces Chance to once again wear the badge. Another man, this one mad with gold fever threatens the town of Preston, Nevada while Chance chases young Stokes across the Silver State.
